What is the organization aiming to reach?
Each year we aid more than than xxx,000 people as we pursue our mission: to provide a broad range of social and mental health services to strengthen Westchester's children and families. FSW serves all ages, from infants to the elderly, with a focus on people who autumn below the poverty line and struggle to afford housing, food, and medical intendance.
What are the system's primal strategies for making this happen?
We are licensed by the New York State Office of Mental Health to provide comprehensive mental health services at seven Family Centers and five school-based mental health clinics throughout Westchester.
Our staff of more 400 works at seven locations throughout Westchester (Hastings-on-Hudson, Mt. Kisco, Pelham, Port Chester, Sleepy Hollow, White Plains, and Yonkers), where they serve more than 30,000 Westchester residents each twelvemonth.
What are the organisation's capabilities for doing this?
As a nonprofit organization, many of FSW's services are available on a sliding scale basis or are reimbursable through Medicaid, Medicare, and/or tertiary political party insurance. The population served past FSW is a broad based cross section of Westchester Canton, reflecting its cultural, racial, indigenous, geographic and socioeconomic diversity. Given the demography project of the steady rise in the Hispanic population in Westchester, we are proud of our cultural competency and linguistic communication proficiency which has attracted children, individuals and families to FSW. We aid them with their psycho-social and youth development needs. Our demographic data indicates that FSW provides services to 43% African American, 32% Hispanic, 25% White.
